Kim Burnette

Proverbs 31:29-31 "Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all." Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Give her the reward she has earned, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

This is a living picture of the Proverbs 31 woman - my friend and neighbor Kim Burnette. Kim was diagnosed with cancer earlier in the year and is undergoing radiation and chemotherapy simultaneously. The past few months have been very painful and difficult for her but through it all she has shown grace and strength. There have been days that she could hardly eat or even get out of bed but you never hear her complain or ask "why" this has happened. Instead she continues to be a ray of sunshine to everyone around her. She doesn't talk about her cancer very much unless asked specifically about it because she is always so focused on others and how she can be an encouragement to them. I have often heard the saying, "genuine faith walks with God for the pleasure of his company not His results" and this has been so true for this beautiful lady. Kim doesn't know why she got cancer or how it will end but continues to delight in the Lord, walk by faith and trust Him. She is a blessing to all that know her!
